Is this a beauty tool? Can guys use it?

The TheraFace PRO delivers much more than simple skin and wrinkle treatment, as this device implements the gentler side of the percussive therapy technology made famous in Therabody devices to provide a full facial and head massage feature set. In addition, the TheraFace PRO packs science backed technology for skin health. Featuring LED therapy and Microcurrent therapy, it can help tighten skin, reduce wrinkles, and improve elasticity. Before you dismiss this as only for the ladies (although the woman in your life will love it), understand that guys like me will enjoy using it, too (who doesn't want to look good, anyhow?).

 

After testing the TheraFace PRO on myself and another tester, it undoubtedly makes your skin appear younger (Therabody has reported that from their extensive testing, 90% of users feel their skin looks more youthful, more glowing and with less wrinkles). Based on our own judgment as well as unsolicited comments from coworkers, friends and family, we concur.

 

The best part is treatment from the TheraFace PRO is how quick, easy and enjoyable it is to rotate it into your bedtime or morning routine. And it's not just for skin health. In fact, I even found myself reaching for the TheraFace PRO with the Cold Rings setting, to reduce a tension headache before playing in a recent basketball game! How do you use the TheraFace Pro?

There is a slight learning curve for those new to facial therapy. Be sure to watch the 5 short how to videos on Therabody's youtube channel, about 1 minute each in length. You will want to pause each video as they move rather quickly, but that will help you get a head start. After thoroughly reading the manual and watching each video, I was off and running.

 

Basically, you press the TheraFace PRO firmly with moderate pressure from your chin to your ear, to the corner of your nose, back up towards the temple, and then repeat on the opposite side of your face. Next, you also work the TheraFace PRO in various patterns along the forehead, depending on the attachment. Lastly, you will move along the neck and throat, avoiding the center of your throat. You can also freelance and do circular motions with the TheraFace PRO if you have a particularly sore headache, I've found. I've even used the TheraFace PRO percussion feature thru my hair, to relieve tension headaches.

How does the TheraFace PRO feel?

 

I've included the  below descriptions for the feeling it gives you when used with the various attachments.

• Flat tip: I used this the most, it is designed for the entire face, neck and chest.
• Cone tip: this is for more precise treatment for targeted areas such as around the eyes, nasolabial lines and pressure points.
• Micropoint tip: used for larger areas such as the forehead, cheeks and chest.
• LED Therapy: this attachment offers 3 modes, Red light therapy for wrinkles treatment, Blue light for moderate acne treatment, and Red+Infrared mode, which treats wrinkles and promotes healing. I liked using the latter two modes after shaving, to help with razor burn as well!
• Microcurrent: this is used to help tighten skin and promote skin elasticity. It has 3 modes, and though it is silent, it is mighty! You will want to use the conductive gel with this mode, as well as the hot and cold attachments.
• Hot and cold: Sold separately but probably my most favorite standalone attachments, I used these to help with tension and to relax my face.

Accessory Options

The TheraFace PRO includes a stand, 3 percussive attachments, a LED laser therapy attachment, and a microcurrent attachment. It has a handy carry bag that can fit all of the attachments quite comfortably.

The TheraFace PRO is also compatible with hot and cold attachment options. Additional purchase is required for these, but they are a must. The hot and cold really help reduce tension headaches and leave you with that same feeling you would from a professional facial treatment: pure bliss and relaxation, at home.

 

Battery Life

The 120 minute battery life is above and beyond what is needed for one person. In fact, between two people, we have used the device for a week at a time without needing to charge it.

 

The charging port is compatible with Samsung charger cables, or simply use the USB-A to USB-C standard cable that comes with the device.
