Keep in mind this guide reflects my own preferences and biases, so you may want to make inferences based on what you think your own biases and preferences might be. Massage for Calf Strains - Theragun PRO Massager

Theragun PRO 2020

First of all, the calves are one of the easiest muscle groups to reach with the Theragun PRO Massager. For best results, I would recommend doing your calf treatment while sitting on a chair. The Theragun PRO did an especially good job on any tight knots that I had in my calves. The strong percussion works fast, and I didn't even need to apply it very long. Lastly, the Theragun is compatible with 6 different tips, which includes a dampener tip. This is great, because you can adjust the feel and treatment style depending on your calf pain.

Warm-Up for Tight Calves

myostorm meteor 2.0

First off, heat is one of the best tools to use for warming up a muscle. The combination of vibration and heat that this massage ball gives off makes the MyoStorm Meteor 2.1 a powerful tool for warming up and loosening tight calf muscles. Once you heat this up and begin rolling, you will feel your calf muscles lengthen and relax from the soothing combination of the heat and friction. Furthermore, this massage ball also provide vibration, so you can also use it with or without the heat for a nice massage on your calves. At a great pricepoint, the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0 offers instant relief for calf pain.

Strained and Sore Calf Recovery

Theragun Wave Roller

If you often have sore calves, the Theragun Wave Roller is a great tool for restoring your fresh legs. Adding vibration to friction foam rolling really is the perfect cocktail for nursing sore calf muscles. Although you can choose between for vibration settings, I recommend level 1 or 2 for treating your calves.

Sports / Workout Induced Calf Pain

If you are an athlete looking for a tool to treat your calf pain on the go, I recommend the Moji Curve Pro. The Curve Pro feels really good on your calves. As the photo shows above, you can use it with your foot propped up on chair for easier access to your calf muscles, or you can also use it while sitting down. For pregame, I used it as a regular friction massage stick to loosen my calves. The stainless steel rotating spheres embedded in the stick perform better then a regular massage stick. Then, for postgame or post workout, you simply stick the massager in a freezer or ice chest, and you get a frozen massage! It is a really nice versatile tool for treating calf pain.

Tool for Calf Cramps, Tight Calves and Poor Circulation

NormaTec Pulse Leg and Hip

If you get heavy legs and need a boost to get back to peak performance, the NormaTec Pulse 2.0 is the Bentley of leg recovery products. The pulsing air compression flushes your lactic acid and muscle waste products, it honestly is a favorite of mine out of all my recovery products. If you have the money, it is by far the best recovery product for treating sore calves, calf cramps and tired legs. It instantly boosts your circulation.
