Theragun G3PRO Professional Massager Review
The Theragun G3PRO is the third edition of the original Theragun, offering the same great handheld percussion style of massage as the previous model, except this version is 50% quieter than the G2PRO. This is a huge improvement as the noise level was the number one complaint about the Theragun.
Now let's take a closer look at the updated Theragun, to discuss how it works and to see if it will fit your needs.

Is the Theragun G3PRO Powerful Enough?
First of all, power isn't a problem with this massage gun. Plus, it now offers two speed variable options, in case you need to dial back the power. However, at the top level, it is powerful enough to treat the very tightest of folks with the most muscular builds out there. For example, when using it at level 2, I would only need to stay in one spot for 8-10 seconds before I was ready to move on to the next spot.
Secondly, the adjustable shaft allows you harness that power, as it very easy to directly hit muscle groups. In addition, the ergonomic grip design and adjustable shaft make it a lot easier than other models on the market to target harder to reach areas.
Above all, power is a key component of evaluating massage guns, after all, if it isn't powerful enough for your knots, you'll be left wanting. So with that in mind, let's poll the rest of the team here, rather than just going off of my opinion, so you get a better sense of the Theragun's power.
This will give you a better idea of the power range you can expect from this massager.
Theragun Power Rating
In conclusion, the graph above shows that everyone who tried the Theragun thought highly of its power, giving it an average rating of 9 when used at the top level 2 setting.
I personally rated the Theragun a 9 for power at level 2. You won't need to hold it on any one spot for too long as it works fast. In addition, you also won't need to press into the device much while using it, as it is plenty powerful on its own. To be clear, the Theragun's high power threshold is ideal for people with very tight muscle areas, muscularly developed athletes, and those who are looking for a device that will allow them to treat multiple muscle groups quickly and efficiently.
How does the Theragun G3PRO feel on your Back?
Rather than just describing the power of the Theragun G3PRO to you, we've also included the descriptions below as an overview for the feeling it provides when used on different body areas.
Back: Firstly, I liked how you could reach your own traps pretty easy, but as expected with any handheld massager, you may need a partner to reach 100% of your back. The Theragun really helps loosen your back and traps and the adjustable arm allows your to minimize shoulder strain while treating your back.
Legs: The power of the G3PRO can dig deep into your leg muscles, you can use it to treat tight muscles in the glutes, hips, hamstrings and quads. You can apply self-treatment pretty easily.
Front Shoulders, Forearms: The dampner and wedge attachments worked great on these areas as I was able to treat the surface of the muscle areas without irritating them.

Accessory Options
If you picture wanting to take this massage gun with you to games, practices, the gym or just on business trips, you are in luck: it comes standard with a carrying case. While other handheld massagers sell the case separately, Theragun doesn't skimp there.
In addition, the Theragun comes with two batteries (more on that below in the Battery Power section), a standalone charger and six attachment heads. The attachment heads include a larger ball, a smaller ball, the aforementioned dampner, a cone, a thumb, and a wedge. As I mentioned earlier in this review, the dampner is perfect for treating less developed areas on the body and in a way, serves as a "step-down" for the power on this device, if you will. The wedge is also another option for treating surface areas such as your shoulder blades or IT bands.
- Standard smaller round ball: I used this attachment the least, as the large round ball made more sense since the shape was the same, and I felt I got more surface area with the larger ball.
- Large round ball: This attachment felt great on my glutes and quads, and wasn't as intrusive as the cone tip.
- Cone and Thumb tips: These simulate a therapist's thumb. These tips allows you to get into the muscles deeper and really helped target some trigger points that needed treatment. These tips are good in doses -- they are painfully good!
- Dampner and Wedge tips: These were great for treating thinner muscle areas and when testing on less developed people around the office. They are less intense than the other attachments, which is good when needed.
Battery Life
As mentioned, it comes with 2 battery packs -- of course with a price tag of $599.00, you could argue that the backup battery is built into the price, in a sense. In any case, it is wise that it includes two batteries, because some folks would be disappointed in the 35-40 minute battery life, However, I found that it isn't that annoying so long as you are using this for personal use. Due to its power, you only need to use it for 2-3 minutes each session, without really needing more.
Most importantly, the backup battery and standalone charger make it is very easy to keep using the massage gun while one battery charges. This is great for personal trainers or coaches who will need extended battery life in order to treat many athletes.

Is a Theragun Massager Worth it?
After reviewing the Theragun G3PRO, I believe that purchasing a Theragun is definitely worth it if you need to subdue knots and sore muscles. Every personal trainer, coach and professional athlete should own one. If you are just an individual with everyday soreness, you should also consider purchasing one so that you can use what the pros use.
- Now 50% Quieter!: The only thing wrong with the previous Theragun was the noise level that it generated while using it. They have addressed this with the G3PRO, which is much quieter than the older models.
- Fully Adjustable Angle: The Theragun was the only massager I tested that had a nearly fully articulating shaft. This makes it very easy to treat all of your muscle groups and to treat a partner.
- Super Powerful: The raw power makes it ideal for coaches or trainers looking to treat strong athletes, or many athletes, quickly. Also, it now offers 2-speed options, allowing you to dial back the power.
- Good Accessories: Theragun gives you your money's worth, from the carrying case, to the six attachments, and to top it off, the backup battery. It really is a nice package deal and ensures you will get the best possible experience with their device.
