Theragun mini 2.0 Review
From our testing and research, the Theragun mini 2.0 is by far the smallest, lightest, most convenient handheld massager we have ever seen. We've tested hundreds of products, and there is literally nothing else close to it on the market. Simply put, there has never been a percussive massage device with this small of a footprint.
The original Theragun mini was one of the smallest handheld massagers on the market, but the Theragun mini 2.0 is now 20% smaller and 30% lighter. Due to its extremely portable size and quiet motor, you can use your Theragun mini 2.0 in more places and more settings than any other handheld massage gun on the market.
Let's take a look at the innovative Theragun mini 2.0 to explain how it works and to see if it will fit your needs.

Is the Theragun mini 2.0 Powerful Enough?
With the introduction of the Theragun mini, Theragun created and defined an entirely new category of micro percussion massagers. The Theragun mini 2.0 represents an improvement in the world of small percussion massagers. Now Bluetooth compatible with the Therabody app, you can gauge how hard your pressing via the force meter on the app, and you can control the intensity of speeds to an infinite amount of levels.
While a pocket size massage gun was never intended to be stronger than a full size massager, the Theragun mini 2.0 packs a surprisingly effective punch. Obviously the main purpose of a mini size massage gun is that it allows users to take the massager on the go, but it actually has plenty of power as well.
In addition to its reasonably impressive built-in power, by pressing into the Theragun mini 2.0, you can create an even stronger massage. Since it is so lightweight and easy to grip, applying manual pressure isn't as tiresome or taxing on you as it is when using full size massagers.
Of course, different strokes for different folks: I would like to point out here that everyone will feel or perceive the power differently. So instead of just going off of my opinion, here are three other Recreation of LA staff member's opinions as well.
This will give you a better sense of the power range you can expect from this massage gun.
Theragun mini 2.0 Power Rating
The graph above concludes that everyone who tested the Theragun mini 2.0 respected its power, giving it an average rating of 7.
While it certainly isn't as powerful as a full size massager, I personally rated the Theragun mini 2.0 a 8 for power. Although the mini was not able to subdue the most stubborn knots along my upper traps, I found I could effectively treat most of my sore areas using the Theragun mini 2.0, which is outstanding considering I was casually treating myself while on a hike with friends.
Even though it took longer than my full size Theragun massage gun to treat my sore areas, and although it wasn't able to handle my tightest knots, I felt substantial relief after using the Theragun mini 2.0.
In addition, when using the Theragun mini 2.0 I noticed I had a higher tolerance for applying manual pressure and for sustaining longer sessions than I do when using my full size massager. So when taking into account both the small form factor and the lack of fatigue induced from usage, I rated the Theragun mini 2.0 an 8 for power when considering how small of a device this really is.
How does the Theragun mini 2.0 feel on your Body?
Rather than just describing the power of the Theragun mini 2.0 to you, I've also included the below descriptions for how it feels when used on different body areas.
Back: I liked using it on my lower back, as it seemed to handle that area perfectly. In addition, I liked the fact that it is so lightweight that you don't fatigue as much when stretching to reach your back area. However, the Theragun mini 2.0 will take much longer to treat your tightest knots along your traps, and in some cases, may not be able to fully finish the job (that is why you should also purchase a full size massager by Theragun). With that said, it delivers incredible treatment while on the go.
Legs: With the Theragun mini 2.0, you can comfortably treat your own calves, feet, hamstrings, quads, hips and glutes. It really shines when using it on your calves and feet, where less pressure is needed. For the more densely developed areas in the upper leg muscle groups, you will feel some relief, but you will probably need your full size Theragun to feel completely relieved. It is nice to be able to nurse those areas at the very least, while on the go.
Front Shoulders, Forearms: Again this is a key area where the Theragun mini 2.0 shines, because you don't need as much raw power to treat these areas. It is great for treating daily pain in these areas.

This extra long battery life is perfect since you will literally want to take the Theragun mini everywhere you go, due to its size, ease of use and quiet motor.

After reviewing the Theragun mini 2.0, I would say that purchasing a Theragun mini 2.0 is well worth the money, as due to its size and ease of use, you will likely find yourself using this incredible device more often than you would any other handheld massager on the market.
