Below is my full review of the Hypervolt massager. Don’t have time to read it all? Click here to skip to the bottom and check out my review summary.
Is the Hypervolt Plus Powerful Enough?
First off, just as its predecessor the Hypervolt, this new and improved version has all the same attachments included with the original Hypervolt, but it is now even more powerful and comes with an additional attachment, the cushion, to help soften that power when needed.
In addition, its strong stall force allows you really apply the massage pressure, without worrying about the massager shutting off. Furthermore the Hypervolt Plus features a brush-less 90-watt motor which allows for a powerful yet quiet massage gun. The brushless motor featured in the Hypervolt Plus allows for less friction to occur within the motor, in turn leading to a quieter and more efficient device.
Another great feature of the Hypervolt Plus is the pressure sensor, which allows the user to gauge the amount of resistance to apply on the massager and into their muscles. As a result, you can actually monitor the amount of pressure you put on your muscles during a massage session. In fact, a light on the massage gun notifies the user as to how much pressure is truly being applied.
The Hyperice Hypervolt Plus features 3 levels of massage intensity. This massage gun features three blue LED lights that indicate to the user the speed that is being used. Below the power button are three white lights which signify the pressure you are putting on to your muscles.
First of all, level one, which has a speed of approximately 2000 percussions per minute. This speed is best used for the upper extremities. Secondly, we have level two at a speed of 2,600 percussions per minute, which is great for slightly denser areas like the calves and legs. Lastly, the level three speed generates approximately 3,200 percussions per minute, which is best suited for denser parts of the body like the quads and hips.
While the Hypervolt Plus massage gun is noticeably more powerful than its previous model, it is not without any drawbacks. The new and more powerful technology leads the new Hypervolt Plus to be about 3 pounds heavier than the previous model.
How does the Hypervolt Plus feel on your Body?
If you are considering purchasing the Hypervolt Plus, you might be wondering how well it works on your body.
First off, let’s discuss how I felt when using the Hypervolt Plus on my back. The massage device is so portable and flexible that it allows you to reach any area on your back. The different attachments were exactly what I needed to get deep into my sore back muscles.
Secondly, I will go over how I felt when using this massage gun on my legs. Since using this massager, I feel that I am able to move more freely, and I am less sore after training, and using it helps me reduce my recovery period.
I’ve been using the flat and cushion attachments for my calves and quads, these attachments gave me an amazing handheld massage experience that I would highly recommend. Furthermore, the Hypervolt Plus comes with a bullet head attachment, that I found perfect to use on my feet.
Finally, I will share with you how I felt after using the Hypervolt Plus on my shoulders and arms. Due to the power of the device, I found that setting the speed at level one allowed me to receive the most comfortable and relaxing massage on these parts of my body. In addition, I found that the round attachment is the best attachment to use on these parts of your body.

Accessory Options
Though many of the Hypervolt Plus’ competitors provide their users with a carrying case, the Hypervolt Plus does not come with a case. The Hypervolt Plus comes packaged with the percussion massager, wall charging chord, and rechargeable and removable lithium battery (24 volts)
Next we will talk about the wall charger, battery options, and LED light notifications. The wall charger features a light on the back, which indicates that the massage gun is charging and how much it has charged. The Hypervolt Plus also allows for the user to swap out battery packs, which is convenient if the massage gun is going to be used for an extended period.
The five attachments that are included are the bullet, round, fork, cushion, and flat heads. They all provide the user with a customized experience that will cater to each specific body part that you use it on.
First the bullet head is best suited for massaging trigger-points on your muscles. It works well on the body’s smaller areas such as your arms and feet.
Second is the round head – This attachment is great for the quads and hamstrings, as it provide a flat surface area for treating larger muscle groups.
Then we have the fork head – This attachment feels great for the muscles surrounding your Achilles tendon, feet, traps, ankle, or any other tight areas. Sometimes, I use it on some of my larger muscles such as my quads and hips.
Next up is the cushion head – This is the softest of all the attachments. If you have never used a percussion massage gun before, this head allows a novice user to gently enter the world of handheld massage guns.
Lastly we have the flat – This head is best for the muscles in your calves and quads.
Battery Life
Maybe you’re itching to purchase this massage gun, but you are concerned about the battery life may be subpar. Fear not! The battery life of the Hypervolt Plus can last up to two hours!
Although it doesn’t last as long as the original Hypervolt, the Hypervolt Plus will provide you with a stronger and better massage gun experience so it makes the trade-off in battery life, worthwhile. Also, you can easily swap out batteries that will extend your use of the Hypervolt Plus. However, an additional battery is not included with the massage gun.

Is the Hypervolt Plus Worth it?
After testing the Hypervolt Plus, I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the Hyperice Hypervolt style, but who prefers a more powerful massage.
- 5 Attachments: The Hypervolt Plus provides you with a variety of options that will ease your soreness, regardless of where it is.
- More Power: Although the original Hypervolt was a quality massage gun in its own right, the Hypervolt Plus is more powerful and thus better equipped to handle your toughest knots.
- Battery Interchangeability: The replaceable and rechargeable batteries allow for extended use when you need it the most.
