MyoStorm Meteor Review
It all began with a Kickstarter campaign in August of 2018, in which MyoStorm promised a massage ball that would be the first of its kind, offering heat AND vibration therapy, all in one. Next came an appearance on Shark Tank in October 2019, at which point MyoStorm told the world about their heated and vibration massage ball. The big question is, would MyoStorm be able to deliver a massage ball that could do both heat and vibration?
In the review I aim to give you an in depth look at the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0. Please use this info to help you decide if it is the right product for your fitness needs.

How Does the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0 Provide Heat?
Most people want to know, how does this massage ball provide heat? The MyoStorm Meteor 2.0 uses a patented battery system that generates heat to the surface of the ball (and vibration -- which we will get to). While other products require the seemingly ridiculous (and potentially dangerous) use of a microwave to heat their items, the MyoStorm can generate up to 120 degree Farenheit in minutes, with just the click of a button on the ball's surface.
In addition, while "microwave-style" massage therapy products go cold after only 30 minutes, the MyoStorm's can hold and generate heat 3X as long. To be clear, the MyoStorm stays hot for a long time -- up to 1.5 hours.
Best of all, since it doesn't require a microwave, I was able to use the heat option anywhere, even in places that didn't have microwaves readily available, such as the gym or at the hotel.
How Hot does the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0 get?
According to MyoStorm, the Meteor 2.0 can reach up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. While I did not measure the temperature, in laymen's terms, it gets noticeably hot, but not enough to burn you. The heat is incredibly soothing on sore leg and back muscles.
In fact, while testing, I noticed that the heat was powerful enough to penetrate a layer of clothing. I didn't find it to be too hot at all, it was just about right for sore muscles.
How Powerful is the Vibration of the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0?
First off, the MyoStorm features 3-speed options, in terms of vibration settings. While vibration has been offered in other massage balls in the past, this is the first massage ball to combine both heat and vibration. The "wow" factor here is that besides using both settings at once, MyoStorm designed both features as independently of each other, so that you can actually use this just as a vibrating ball (or just as a heat ball).
In fact, even without considering the heat option, the MyoStom would hold its own when compared to other vibrating massage balls. The three speed settings are great for different parts of the body. The lower vibration setting is perfect for your calves and upper back, while the high vibration settings are great for your more muscular areas like thighs, hamstrings, glutes and lower back. I've tested many of the popular, name brand massage balls, and the MyoStorm is as good or better on a vibration basis.
The Meteor 2.0 has an awesome feel with its textured, silicon exterior. It rolls smoothly underneath you, and the firmness is right. In comparison to other vibrating massage balls, I noticed that I was able to warm up much quicker using the vibration and heat settings together on the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0.
Firmness
The MyoStorm Meteor 2.0 is very firm, which is good, because you'll be using all of your bodyweight on this compact ball. When I tested it, it handled all of the pressure from my bodyweight without any issue. While some of the massage balls that I've tested might sink in or become compressed, the MyoStorm Meteor retains it shape and supplies a nice, firm surface for massage purposes.
Furthermore, I feel the true test of a massage ball is to try it with all the "lights off" -- meaning no vibration or heat. In this case, you can really measure the other features of the ball - the feel, the "roll-ability," and the firmness. The Meteor 2.0 provided an awesome massage, even while I used it with the settings turned off. This is great to know since there will be times when you won't be able to use the settings due to situational or environmental factors (for example, if needing to keep vibration off due to noise).
Battery Life and Charging Time
When it comes to battery life, MyoStorm includes a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that gives you 1.5 hours before a charge is needed. In addition, the charging time only takes 75 minutes. Anecdotally, I found myself only needing to charge the battery about once every 1-2 weeks. You may need to charge it more in a team or group setting.

How Heavy or Bulky is the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0?
The MyoStorm Meteor 2.0 is ridiculously light and compact. It only weighs 1.5 lbs and measures 4” in diameter, so it's so easy to take with you the gym or while traveling. Its small size means you are more likely to get more use of it, since you can take it along wherever you go, with ease.
In addition, the small diameter of the product allowed me to accurately target the exact spots that were giving me issues. I have used many vibrating massage products, but the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0 one of the few products that I found to be effective in releasing my trigger points and easing my soreness.
If you're convinced the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0 is the right vibrating massage ball for you, the pricing information for the vibrating massage ball is below.

Is a MyoStorm Meteor 2.0 Worth it?
After reviewing the MyoStorm Meteor 2.0, I walkaway impressed (and less sore) thanks to the awesome feature set and portability of this massage ball.
- Heat + Vibration: The Meteor 2.0 is awesome for warming up, as the added benefit of receiving heat while rolling on a vibrating massage ball really helps loosen your muscles and bring circulation to you legs.
- Flexible Options: You can use either vibration or heat, or both, or neither -- that's the beauty of the Meteor 2.0. The flexible options allow you to get more use out of this ball depending on the type of treatment you are seeking.
- Lightweight and Portable: This device is way easier to throw in a gym bag or back pack than a foam roller, it's much smaller in diameter, and lighter than most other recovery tools.
- Good Firmness: Even if you don't want to use heat or vibration, you can just roll on its firm surface and still get a nice massage.
