Power Rating

Firstly, when it comes to power, the Theragun PRO G5 provides plenty of it! In fact, Theragun proudly proclaims that the Theragun PRO G5 puts out an impressive 60 lbs of torque. In addition, since it now has the five speed options (whereas TimTam only has 1 speed), you can dial back the power when needed. Most importantly, the Theragun PRO G5 is strong enough to treat your major aches and pain, quickly. For example, when using it at level 5, I would only need to stay in one spot for a few seconds before I was ready to move on to the next spot.

In addition, once you pair the Theragun PRO G5 to your smart phone, you can also adjust the speed in any increment ranging from 1750-2400, via the app. So in reality, the speed level can be customized far beyond 5 speeds, even!

Above all, power is a key component of evaluating massage guns, after all, if it isn't powerful enough for your knots, you'll be left wanting. So with that in mind, let's poll the rest of the team here, rather than just going off of my opinion, so you get a better sense of the Theragun's power.

This will give you a better idea of the power range you can expect from this massager. Everyone here who tried the Theragun PRO G5 thought highly of its power, giving it an average rating of 9 when used at the top level 5 setting.

I personally rated the Theragun PRO G5 a 10 for power at level 5. You won't need to hold it on any one spot for too long as it works fast. In addition, you also won't need to press into the device much while using it, as it is plenty powerful on its own. To be clear, the Theragun's high power threshold is ideal for people with very tight muscle areas, muscularly developed athletes, and those who are looking for a device that will allow them to treat multiple muscle groups quickly and efficiently.

Accessory Options

If you picture wanting to take this massage gun with you to games, practices, the gym or just on business trips, you are in luck: it comes standard with a carrying case. While other handheld massagers sell the case separately, Theragun doesn't skimp there.

In addition, the Theragun PRO G5 comes with two batteries (more on that below in the Battery Power section), a standalone charger and six attachment heads. The attachment heads include a a standard ball, the dampner, a thumb, a wedge a SUPERSOFT, and an all-new Micro-Point. The SUPERSOFT is another ground breaking feature, as no other massage gun has an attachment so gentle that you can use your massage gun to massage your temples and neck. This is perfect for treating tension headaches and sensitive areas. 

• Standard smaller round ball: I used this attachment the least, as the large round ball made more sense since the shape was the same, and I felt I got more surface area with the larger ball.
• SUPERSOFT & Micro-Point:  Two proprietary attachments that allows you to treat tension headaches, the perfect way to massage your temples and the nape of your neck.
• Thumb tip: This tip simulates a therapist's thumb. This tip allows you to get into the muscles deeper and really helped target some trigger points that needed treatment. This tip is good in doses -- it is painfully good!
• Dampner and Wedge tips: These were great for treating thinner muscle areas and when testing on less developed people around the office. They are less intense than the other attachments, which is good when needed.

Battery Life

As mentioned, it comes with 2 battery packs -- of course with a price tag of $599.00, you could argue that the backup battery is built into the price, in a sense. With that said, the impressive 5-hour battery life is unmatched. Due to its power, you only need to use it for 5-10 minutes each session, without really needing more.

Most importantly, the backup battery and standalone charger make it is very easy to keep using the massage gun while one battery charges. This is great for personal trainers or coaches who will need extended battery life in order to treat many athletes.
