Power Rating

First off, the Theragun PRO G5 Professional Massager now offers 5 speeds. In the past, the older versions only provided up to two speeds. In addition, once you pair the Theragun PRO G5 to your smart phone, you can also adjust the speed in any increment ranging from 1750-2400, via the app. So in reality, the speed level can be customized far beyond 5 speeds, even!

The addition of five-speed options is a fantastic upgrade. Level one, which provides 1750 percussions per minute, is great for people with slighter builds or for areas of the body with less muscle density. Level five, which generates 2400 percussions per minute, still delivers that trademark Theragun power and is great for major muscle groups. Plus, you have three in between settings to find that perfect level for you!

Most impressive of all, they've retained the same level of power while reducing the noise. Although quieter, operating at level five still brings that same impressive power. For instance, most people we tried it on would immediately swoon towards and away from the gun at the same time - as in a "it hurts so good" type of way.

Moreover, it is also now easier to leverage the power since they improved the location of the shaft button, which makes the shaft is fully adjustable. After a simple click and push, it locks into place at any angle you wish.

As mentioned above, older versions of the Theragun would make enough noise to cause a headache for yourself or others -- they've addressed that issue. The Theragun PRO G5, new to 2022, is 20% quieter than the previous versions! This is a huge upgrade or improvement, as you can now use it without causing as much of a ruckus!

In conclusion of our studies, at level 5, Theragun PRO G5 rates at a 9 out of 10 on the power rating scale (with 10 being the firmness and 1 being the softest).

Above all, you won't need to keep it in any one position for too long as its top rated power works quickly. You also won't need to apply pressure into the device much at all while using it, as it is plenty powerful on its own.

Accessory Options

Firstly, the Theragun PRO G5 includes a sharp looking carrying case for convenient transport and travel.

Secondly, the Theragun PRO G5 comes with six different attachment heads, which are similar to the Hypervolt except for the SUPERSOFT, the Micro-Print, damper and wedge attachments, which effectively allow you to "step-down" the power of the massage for soft areas. This not only puts it on a level playing field when comparing the Hypervolt's lower speed options, but in fact, the Theragun PRO's Micro-Point and SUPERSOFT attachment are key differentiators, as they allow you to treat your temples and other sensitive areas in a much gentler manner than any Hypervolt attachment can.

Battery Life

To start, we noticed the Theragun PRO G5 lasts 150 minutes on one charge, but it comes with two batteries, so you can use it for up to 5 hours consecutively. However, since it is so high powered, you probably won't need to use it too long each session, so you will likely get lots of sessions out of each charge.

Lastly, Theragun also sells additional batteries separately, so you can always buy more if you need to be able to use it for longer than 5 hours consecutively.
